8 YEARS!
Dear Nick,
Remember when 8 years ago today you called me up and asked me to go out with you. And I, not wanting to embarrass myself for a wrongful assumption, needed to clarify and so asked, "you mean 'out' out?" And you said yes. Then after I said yes we got all silly and said "Ok, wicked, awesome, bye!" and ended up going to the mall that night.
I had already had dinner but you, being home alone with Chris whilst your parents were in Florida, of course had not eaten yet and had a Mr. Sub in the foodcourt - southwest something? with hot peppers. We went to Best Buy and just walked around a bit, then went back to my house and watched tv.
Naturally, as you were my first and only boyfriend, I was so excited and nervous that I threw up the next morning. I couldn't wait to tell all my friends at school I was dating Nick Mitchell (who was in college! Woah. In case others read this, I am just 6 months younger hehe, but it was still exciting for a gr. 12 girl to be dating a college guy). My parents were very pleased as they said you had felt like part of the family even before you asked me out, and your parents were pleased because, well, com'on, you were dating me! Who ever thought Nick Mitchell and Alicia Colwill, long-time family friends (although taking no notice of each other until that year practically) would end up getting married and starting a family of their own together.
So THANKS for asking me 'out' out, Nick. I'm glad you did it, and glad you asked me to marry you a few years later. I would not have nearly as much hilarity in my life had it not been for 8 years ago today, nor so much love. I LOVE YOU! :)
